Your co-signer may not meet the necessary requirements to stand as a guarantor. This could be due to several factors, such as:

- Not being based in the UK
- Not being a homeowner
- Not having sufficient income
- Lacking the credit history required by your landlord or letting agent

A co-signer assumes less financial responsibility than a guarantor, which is why someone may be willing to co-sign but not fully guarantee your rent. If you don’t have an eligible guarantor, Housing Hand can step in as your UK guarantor, making it easier for you to secure a rental property.
