When using Housing Hand, we’ll also need a co-signer to sign up with you. This is an individual over the age of 18 who will take responsibility for you meeting your obligations outlined in your tenancy agreement.
Proof of study for students
A correspondence from University, UCAS form or a Student ID.
Proof of income for professionals
The last 3 months worth of payslips or bank statements showing your income.
Proof of ID
This can be a passport, drivers license or a national ID document.

This is someone we can get in touch with if we can’t contact you. They can’t be an existing Housing Hand customer.

We keep it nice and simple. Once you’re in, you can pay our fee by splitting it over 6 or 12 months and we stand as your guarantor for the length of your tenancy.
Finding a guarantor costs less than you think
When you complete your application, you will be asked to pay a small onboarding fee of £20. This allows us to complete your ID verification checks on you and your co-signer. You then won’t need to pay a penny more until you move in. (Unless you choose to pay upfront!)

Much of this depends on you. You can get approval in principle immediately, but we need all of your documents to progress. Once we have everything we need from you, we get in touch with your accommodation provider. So we are also reliant on their response time. Typically, with everything we need in place, it can be just a few days.
98% of our applicants are accepted. Working professionals need to show they earn 1.5x their contribution to the rent, and students need to show proof of study. We may ask for some additional details on top of this, as well as a co-signer. If you have any concerns, please get in touch.
When you use Housing Hand as your rent guarantor, we’ll need a co-signer to sign up with you. This can be a parent, family member or friend. As long as they’re working and over the age of 18, they’ll usually be suitable.
We won’t need to credit check them or you, it’s just someone else who will take responsibility for you meeting your obligations outlined in your tenancy agreement as well as a point of contact if we can’t get hold of you.

Whether you are from the UK or from abroad, whether you are studying or working full time in the UK (including self-employed), you can apply for the Housing Hand Guarantor Service (with certified proof of income or study).
The easiest way to see if you are eligible is to use our quick and free application form. This will give you an answer and a quote within minutes.
Our role is to cover the rent you have agreed with your accommodation provider. If you were to miss a payment, the accommodation provider would contact us in order to make the payment. Once this payment has been made, we will contact you to let you know we have made the payment and to organise an interest-free payment plan to repay us for the rent we have covered.
We only offer 6 or 12-month contracts for our payments at this time, this means that if your contract is 10 months long, you would still have subscribed to pay Housing Hand 12 payments. If your tenancy agreement is 6 months or less, you can split your payments over 6 months.
