Which is why Housing Hand has developed the ‘Guarantor Passport’.
Don’t know your accommodation details yet? No problem.
Simply verify your ID online, pay a small onboarding fee. And you will be provided with your ‘Guarantor Passport’ to show any landlords or accommodation providers that you have been pre-approved for a Housing Hand Guarantor.
Put simply, it’s a pre-approved guarantor with Housing Hand. Showing landlords and accommodation providers that Housing Hand could stand as your guarantor, subject to completing the full guarantor process. Even if you don’t have the rental amount or accommodation details yet.

Providing you have a valid ID, and are in, or plan to be in full time education when your tenancy starts, you can apply for a Guarantor Passport.

Your Guarantor Passport will be sent as a QR code. This allows your landlord or accommodation provider to prove you are who you say you are and confirm that you have been pre-approved for a guarantor with Housing Hand.
Once you’ve secured your accommodation details, we will then ask you for some more details so Housing Hand can stand as your guarantor.

Not a problem, just let us know. You are not committed until you have found a home and your guarantor application is fully approved. Your passport is valid for up to three years, providing your ID is still in date. So, you can use it right away, in six months or three years’ time. Please note: The £20 onboarding fee is non-refundable.
Simply log in to your account and complete your application process. You will be asked to provide your proof of study, your co-signer details, your tenancy details and your payment information for the guarantor fee.
If you choose to progress with the Housing Hand Guarantor there is a fee for the service. You can choose to pay monthly or upfront to get a discount. You can get a quote here to get a rough idea of what it might be depending on your rental amount. However, you will not pay any further onboarding fees for ID verification as this will have been covered in the Guarantor Passport.
This depends on your ID. It should really take no longer than 5 – 10 minutes to complete your ID verification. If there are any problems with the ID uploaded, you will be notified and asked to resubmit. Once you have been verified, you will receive your passport within 24 hours.
Housing Hand are the most widely accepted guarantor service in the UK. If your landlord or accommodation provider is unaware of Housing Hand, please let us know and we would be happy to have a chat with them directly.
As a Guarantor Passport customer, you don’t get direct access to this until you become a Guarantor customer. However, you will have the option to add this for a small monthly fee. As soon as you become a Guarantor customer, this subscription will stop and be included for free.
Subject to the expiry date on your ID, the Guarantor Passport will be valid for up to three years.
Once payment has been made and your ID is approved, you will receive your passport within 24 hours.
